Program Horses
Alliance180, Inc. has seven horses that help our clients with their equine experience. Each one of our horses is carefully selected by our co-founder Melody Squier, who is a veteran horse handler.
Nico
Nitrous Channel (Nico) is a 6-year-old chestnut horse who joined our program this year!
Nico has a heart murmur, and riding is not recommended for him, so he became a great fit for our program. He keeps busy schooling his younger pasture mates. Nico is the boss, but he also has a kind soul. He is very earnest, and doing fun activities that activate his mind helps bring his playful side out.
Sweater
Sweat and Saddle, endearingly referred to as “Sweater,” was rehabbed well from neck surgery a year and a half ago and loves to snuggle while massaging his neck.
Sweater arrived at our grounds last August with two other horses. He has been a great asset to our services and is well-loved here!
Jig
Jigger Inn or (Jig) is a Dark bay, three year old. He is very sweet and mellow. He had a shoulder injury in his past and a low impact career is his future.
He has a curious and playful nature. He loves being introduced to new places and excelled in the “confidence course” which consists of many different objects to explore, walk under, on or over.
He arrived after one of our crazy spring snowstorms and he LOVED the snow,. He could not get enough rolls in that wonderful white stuff!
Alumni Horses
Alliance180, Inc. takes care of horses for the rest of their lives. We make sure each horse that was in our program live out their golden years under our care.
Woody
Woody joined Alliance180 through Florida TRAC, coming from their Maryland facility. Known for his curious personality, he was the horse who would poke his head into the veterinarian’s truck while it was parked in the pasture during vaccinations. After developing back and hoof issues that made riding impossible, Woody was retired to pasture life. At Alliance180, he found a new purpose, playing an integral role in the program for several years by fostering meaningful interactions with participants.
As his hoof condition progressed and green pastures became unsuitable for his needs, Woody transitioned to a well-deserved retirement at Forget-Me-Not Farm in Vermont. There, he enjoys a peaceful life surrounded by other horses, including some of his former companions from the Alliance180 program.
Bert Stone
Bert Stone has been a cherished member of Alliance180 since its inception, embodying kindness and curiosity without ever being pushy. This young horse’s journey began at a New York racetrack, where he was left without a place at the end of racing season. Rescued by New Vocations, Bert underwent rehabilitation and received care for a small floating knee chip, preparing him for a new chapter in life.
At Alliance180, Bert has helped countless participants through the program with his gentle and generous spirit. With a personality reminiscent of Ferdinand the Bull from the beloved storybook, Bert would be perfectly content simply sitting and smelling the flowers. As time passed, his physical comfort, mainly when circling to the right, began to decline. Now happily retired at Forget-Me-Not Farm in Vermont, Bert enjoys his days alongside five other alumni horses, relishing the peace and companionship he so richly deserves.
Salute the Colonel
Salute the Colonel joined Alliance180 through Florida TRAC, bringing his tall, lanky frame and gentle, unassuming nature. Despite his size, he ranks lower in the herd, but his personality shines in other ways—Colonel is known for his endearing habit of pulling people in close for a proper hug with his long neck.

Colonel has grown in confidence through his time in the Alliance180 program, shedding some of his flight tendencies and becoming a more grounded presence. His sensitivity and responsiveness to his environment challenge those around him to be mindful of their signals, making him a powerful partner in self-awareness and growth. Colonel connects on an intuitive, almost spiritual level when given the chance, serving as an introspective guide for those who have had him as a coach.

Now retired, Colonel enjoys peaceful days alongside his buddy Scout, savoring the companionship he deserves.
Safe and Sound
Safe and Sound, fondly known as Scout, joined the Alliance180 program through Florida TRAC and quickly became a standout presence. Handsome and self-assured, Scout possesses a natural curiosity and an eagerness to embrace new challenges. His kind leadership, quiet confidence, and adventurous spirit have enriched the experiences of everyone who has had the pleasure of working with him. His fans often remind us with a smile to "kiss my horse!"

After serving the program since its early days, Scout was ready for a well-earned change of pace. Now enjoying a period of relaxation, he continues to embody the grace and potential for new beginnings that Alliance180 represents, as he looks forward to whatever new opportunities may come his way.
